A certified copy is issued by the court's copying section (or, increasingly, digitally through e-Courts services) bearing an endorsement that it is a true copy of the original record. Certified copies of judgments, orders, and decrees are typically required for filing an appeal or for execution proceedings, and are usually subject to a limitation-period exclusion for the time taken to obtain them.
