Culpable Homicide

Causing someone's death in a way the law treats as a serious crime, though not always to the level of murder.

Culpable homicide is causing death by an act done with intent to cause death, or with intent to cause bodily injury likely to cause death, or with knowledge that the act is likely to cause death. Murder is culpable homicide committed under aggravating circumstances specifically defined by the statute; not every culpable homicide is murder.
