Detailed Legal Meaning
The List of Dates is a tabular chronology (date, then a brief description of the event on that date) placed near the front of a filing, immediately after the Synopsis in most High Court practice. It lets a court quickly verify the sequence of events — and, often, whether the filing is within limitation — without having to reconstruct the timeline from the narrative pleading itself.
Common Court Usage
Read alongside the Synopsis at the outset of a hearing; frequently referred to back to when a specific date is disputed.
